O
Divine Master, Lord of History and Provident Father of
all men, We beseech your protection in this hour of need.
Repair those lives shattered by human violence.Give
to
our leaders the wisdom and prudence to steer our
world community
to peace and prosperity.Step
into
our history with your truth and your justice. Grant reconciliation to all bound by hatred
and despair. Be our Father and Consoler forever.…
Amen. Fr.
Joseph Illo, St Josephs Church
I
want you to close your eyes and picture in your mind the soldier at
Valley Forge, as he holds his musket in his bloody hands. He stands
barefoot in the snow, starved from lack of food, wounded from months
of battle
and emotionally scarred from the eternity away from his family surrounded
by nothing but death and carnage of war. He stands tough, with fire
in his eyes and victory on his breath. He looks at us now in anger and
disgust and tells us this...
I
gave you a birthright of freedom born in the Constitution and now your
children graduate too illiterate to read it.
I fought in the snow barefoot to give you the freedom to vote and you
stay
at home because it rains. I left my family destitute to give you the
freedom of speech and you remain
silent on critical issues, because it might be bad for business.
I orphaned my children to give you a government to serve you and it
has stolen democracy from the people.
It's the soldier not the reporter who gives you the freedom of the press.
It's the soldier not the poet who gives you the freedom of speech. It's
the
soldier not the campus organizer who allows you to demonstrate.
It's the soldier who salutes the flag, serves the flag, whose coffin
is
draped with the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag!!!
"Lord,
hold our troops in your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their
families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time
of need. Amen."

Circle of Prayer:
Please stop for a moment and say a prayer for
our U.S. troops in Iraq at this very moment.
Of
all the gifts you could give a US Soldier,
Prayer is the very best one.

Psalm 91 ~ Soldiers Psalm
He that
dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under
the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God;
in him will I trust. Surely
he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the
noisome pestilence. He
shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt
thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the
arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh
in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right
hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt
thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. Because thou hast
made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come
nigh thy dwelling. For
he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all
thy ways.
They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot
against a stone. Thou
shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon
shalt thou trample under feet.
Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver
him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
He
shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him
in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

Message
from Iraq
The proud warriors of Baker
Company wanted to do something to pay tribute To our fallen comrades.
So since we are part of the only Marine Infantry Battalion left in Iraq
the one way that we could think of doing that is By taking a picture of
Baker Company saying the way we feel. It would be awesome if you could
find away to share this with our fellow countrymen. I was wondering if
there was any
way to get this into your papers to let the world know that
"WE HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN" and are proud to serve our country."

The attached photo was
forwarded from one of the last
U.S. Marine companies in Iraq. They would like to have it passed to as
many people as possible, to let the folks back home know that they remember
why they're there and that they remember those who've been lost.
"Until
They All Come Home..."

3: 16:
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten
Son,
that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have eternal
life."
